D & M’s Salt Spring Island wedding was an intimate family affair. The pair eloped on one of the beautiful Gulf Islands on British Columbia west coast, exactly one year early from their original planned wedding date. Although they still plan a secondary ceremony (essentially a vow renewal) and reception for next year, they couldn’t wait to make it official. Word got out and their immediately families asked to witness their exchange of vows at M’s parent’s home.
D and I were friends from high school but lost touch over the years until I noticed her on a wedding forum group and we started chatting again. I was thrilled when she selected to me to document their day. They flew me over via seaplane for a few hours together to capture their ceremony and get some portraits around Ganges harbour and at the gorgeous Hastings House Country Hotel. I’m so happy for D and it was such a pleasure to be included in such an intimate and meaningful day. I look forward to joining them again, next year!
