One of my favourite parts of being a wedding and family photographer is getting to follow couples’ journey from those carefree days of being newly engaged, to committing to each other in front of all their nearest and dearest and then starting families of their own. This is the case with Elissa & Dan. I photographed their engagement and wedding back in 2014 and I recently got the chance to capture some lifestyle newborn photos of their daughter and her big brother at their home in North Vancouver.
There is something special about photographing in a client’s home. It’s where life happens and memories are made. Whether it’s their forever home or just one of many that they will live in, each home is a chapter in their lives together. In these sessions, I try to capture the love and interaction of family members with the newest addition, as everyone is still getting to know each other and their new roles in the family.
